Day 1
Mommy and Daddy say we’re going on a long hike, I love hiking and am super excited, plus I can use my new journal to write about it!
Day 4
This is a really long hike, but it’s still lots of fun. Mommy and Daddy didn’t tell me the whole village was coming too.
Day 5
Some people from another village joined our hike, I feel bad for them since it’s probably almost over anyway.
Day 7
Mommy and Daddy told me we’re not going back home, they say we’re hiking all the way to a new house in Ardun Village. They say it’s “out of the way”.
Day 10
We had to change directions today, everyone was scared go through this one field. They said it was awful and sad. I dunno, I thought it looked pretty. All white and flat, with patterns like giant snowflakes.
Day 11
We didn’t stop for lunch today because a scout came back and said the monsters were getting close, everyone was really scared and Mommy wouldn’t let go of my hand.
Day 12
Even though everyone is so scared it seemed like a nice day to me, I didn’t see any monsters and the sky was super clear so you could see lots and lots of hedrons!
Day 14
Mommy went away. Daddy says the monsters took her and a bunch of others but I didn’t see because the soldiers and scouts made us all run as fast as we can for the North mountains. Daddy was crying a lot. One of my neighbors, Mr. Huric gave me all his dinner and said sorry.
Day 17
I know this isn’t hike, we’re running from the monsters. The Eldrazi the grown-ups always talk about. I think that’s ok. It was still a fun trip besides Mommy going away. I hope she comes back soon
Day 20
Today we stopped for lunch by a super pretty river. It was a really sunny and all the soldiers were shielding their eyes so they could keep an eye out for the Eldrazi. Me and Beri and some other kids played in the prairie. I wish Mommy was here for this.
Day 22
Now Daddy’s gone too. The Eldrazi came just after a really bad Roil and they took lots more people. Mr. Huric kept me company after. He says everything will be okay. I don’t believe him.
Day 23
Mr. Huric asked if I knew how to use a sword. I said Daddy taught me how a long time ago, but I hadn’t needed one since the animals stopped coming near our village. He said I needed one now.
Day 28
There only ten of us left. Mr. Huric took me to a lake away from the others. He says since I’m the only kid left I have to be super careful.
Day 31
The roil was bad today. Mr. Huric got hurt, he promises he’s ok. I don’t believe him.
Day 32
I think we’re getting close to Ardun. I can’t sleep.
Day 40
We made it to Ardun today. They took me to the healer right away and gave me lots of snacks. Everyone seems happy for us to be here but I still feel sad. The sky seems grey and when I tried to take a nap, I closed my eyes, all I saw is nothing, and I’m worried that’s where mommy and Daddy went.
